Dustin Mitchell Claims Steel Block Bandits Victory Friday at Dixieland Speedway

Elizabeth City, NC – The Steel Block Bandits Dirt Late Model Challenge regional traveling touring series made its annual stop in northeastern North Carolina this past weekend. 31 drivers from multiple states entered a 24-field, 40-lap contest paying a $5,000 first-place prize at Dixieland Speedway in Elizabeth City. In the end, Dustin Mitchell of Pine Level, NC crossed the line ahead of runner-up finisher, Robbie Emory of Milton, DE.

Down Home Sheds Sportsman

2017 champion Mark Gonzales collected his fourth straight win in the Down Home Sheds Sportsman division on Friday. Like all of the previous events, Gonzales, of Elizabeth City, put his Chevrolet out front and never looked back to capture the victory. Troy Brickhouse in car 21, earned his best finish of the season when he come home in the second position, with Brad Adams of Suffolk, claiming third place.

As the only winner so far in 2023, Gonzales leads the championship chase. James Miller and Troy Brickhouse are currently tied for second, 34-points in the rear.

Moody's Water Conditioning Stock Fours

Justin Bohn of Portsmouth was able to successfully secure his first win of the season when he held off the dominant driver of the season, Ryland Lindsey. Briana Colyer snagged the final podium finishing spot by capturing third in her second start of the season.

Lindsey leads the season-long points war over Colleen Stevens and Missy Daniels, who currently occupy positions two, and three headed into the fifth event this weekend.

Little Caesars Super Streets

Heavy fog and mist stopped the main race at lap number five. The race will resume this weekend.

Racing continues Friday evening, June 9th, and will feature kid's night with those 11 and under getting free admission. Additionally, the track will feature the inaugural Juicebox Division race for the Radio Flyer Ultimate Go-Karts. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and racing begins at 8:00 p.m.

The family-friendly facility offers something for everyone as the on-track action keeps fans on the edge of their seat all night long. Refreshments and souvenirs are available on-site.
